Most of the hairdressing salons in Marbella are unisex, but you can still find more traditional men's barber salons -  although these tend to be mainly Spanish run.

There are a number of  good hairdressing salons to choose from and you should not have any trouble finding a well trained English speaking hairdresser.

Hair is not a living structure and it cannot repair itself and must be maintained properly to preserve strength, elasticity and shine. Shampoos and conditioners cannot repair it and once hair is damaged the only thing to do it is to cut off the damaged length.

Your hair needs proper maintenance and following are a few tips to keep your hair looking healthy:

  • Towel Drying is one of the leading causes of damage to men's hair as when hair is wet it is also very easily damaged.  By rubbing the hair with a towel some of the hairs become tangled and are stretched to the breaking point causing damage to the cuticle and split ends. To minimize damage from towel drying shake out the excess water and  stroke your hair with the towel in the direction it grows.
  • Blow drying can dry out the hair and scalp. You should apply a thermal styling spray or detangler to the hair to make it easier to comb and protect against heat damage. Always hold the dryer 6-10 inches away from the hair and avoid drying the hair completely as leaving it slightly damp will prevent it drying out.
  • Using a wide-tooth comb or brush on wet hair will limit damage caused by pulling on the hair.
  • Wash your hair in lukewarm water as hot water will dry out the hair and scalp
  • Your hair will grow faster if you eat well, drink plenty of water and get plenty of sleep. The hair is a reflection of the entire body so if it is healthy and well maintained you should have hair that is strong and shiny.
  • Swimming pool water contains chemicals that can dry, damage, and discolour hair, so always wet the hair with tap water before entering the pool to help prevent it absorbing water from the pool.
  • Wash your hair every other day with a gentle shampoo and follow with a light conditioner.
