A Rhytidectomy (facelift) is designed to make your face look firmer, fresher and younger by smoothing out loose skin on your face and neck, tighten underlying tissue, lift muscle and remove excess fat.

After face lift surgery you will be asked to restrict your activities and simply relax for a week or two. You will experience some numbness in the facial area which might last for several weeks and the stitches are usually removed in stages over a period of 5-10 days. The greatest amount of swelling occurs 24 to 48 hours after the surgery, but it may take several weeks before all the puffiness disappears.

Most of the bruising will disappear within two weeks, and after a few days, you will be able to wear make-up to help conceal any discoloration. The results of your facelift may be dramatic or subtle, but you should expect to wait several weeks to be able to appreciate your new look.
